Dear parents,

We would firstly like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a good health. We hope that everybody is safe and healthy at home.

As we all know that the district administration of Kathmandu valley has eased the Covid-19 restrictions and have allowed conditional reopening of schools.

The statement said that the local administration, after obtaining permission from the District Covid-19 Crisis Management Centre may allow schools which falls under their jurisdiction to reopen. The statement further states that the school reopening should be guided by the concept of “smart lockdown”, which allows local administrations to impose different levels of restrictions in different areas depending upon the severity of the Covid-19 situation.

As we all had been looking forward to opening the school as soon as possible, this news does come as a breath of fresh air and the school is working towards attaining the permission needed from the local government body.

However, considering the present situation and the statistics regarding the severity of the virus in Kathmandu valley, which is still high, we have decided to hold off opening our school for another month.

A month will give us enough time to evaluate the situation and we will be able to better decide on the best possible measures needed to be taken for the safety of our children when we finally reopen our school.

We will be updating you further on this matter as the situation progresses.

We are always grateful for you cooperation and support.

Thanking you,

Pratima Rai
